The big short! and not talking about myself..

No, I don't think that's it.                        There we go, that's a little better.

Watched the big short the other day, and it got me thinking of business and the way communication is done in the business field. The way we effectively communicate with one another is one of the major factors in determining the route in which you take, and ultimately how successful you are. If I learned anything from watching this movie, it was to always have perspective. The characters in this film realized that if they stuck to their guns, used their principles and did the research, they could lead themselves to glory with the power of the mind and rational thinking. And that's the perspective that I left the movie having. If I stick to my principles and continue to be myself and not care what anyone else thinks of my actions, I'll be just fine. Sometimes it can be hard to be relaxed all the time, but if working in the customer service field for over three years has taught me anything, it's to always be yourself. And that is why I plan to be successful in business one day. Because I will do my research, stick my guns, and above all else always be myself, which will put me in the position I need to be successful. 

Who ever heard of taking the 'safe' route anyway?

As of late, it's becoming more and more clear to me that if I am going to be successful in life, and lead a happy life down the road, I'm going to need to do something that I enjoy doing. And unfortunately my whole life that's been sports and business/money side of things. So crossing the two ideas has become something I have toyed with over the past, and I think something in the sports field may be the only thing that I could really motivate myself for. My dream has long been to become a sports agent, which is something that seems like a great and extremely hard dream to achieve, would require a business degree(which I am on the way to achieving), and a law degree, which seems almost impossible at this point.


There's an old saying I read once that goes "You don't get into trouble when your not quite sure, You get into trouble when you know for sure but it ain't so." I believe Mark Twain said that and it has rung true in my life many times over. For my current position though, what I know is that graduating from CMU with a business management degree, and then getting into a law school and graduating from there one day, seems like a real long shot at this point. So I'm hoping I take a step towards defeating that saying that has rung true for me. That what I know at this point, isn't where I have to end up, and I will not get into trouble, but be lead to greener pastures from breaking through what I know now into what I hope to achieve.

BYU bails me out, the right way!

Unlike the way GM was bailed out by our humongous and over crowded government, I was bailed out last night by BYU and some late game heroics.

 
But this 'bailout' just goes to show my ineptitude for making the right decision. I think it may be finally time to cash in the chips so to speak. There's a total of four possible big time money games left this season that I could form a rational thought on, the first of which is tomorrow night. If all goes according to plan, Ill go a minimum of three and one in those games, which sets up pretty nice for me. So assuming I don't lose my mind again like I have many times in the past, and even many times in the very near past, I should be licking my chops here in a few days/weeks, oh and yeah I may make a little cash in the process.

Safe Travels!

With all that's been in the news cycle of late, I feel people need to practice caution more than ever.Yet another terrorist attack by ISIS, and yet again they have let everyone know their intentions are to continue to do so throughout Europe and presumably America. One quote that stuck with me from a leading member of ISIS after the tragedy in Paris was this " European blood tastes sweet, but American blood taster." Sickening stuff, but pretty clear as to what their intentions are. Like it or not, those ISIS pieces of crap are going to find their way on to American soil and when they do, it'll be too late for those victims. So if I'm anyway in a position of power with a chance to stop these schmucks, I have a moral responsibility to put an end to ISIS before they put an end to more innocent lives.

 But yet, Obama will do what he's best at. And that is sitting there doing nothing and using his position to milk all the fame he can out of it. But there may be hope if a new regime can put an end to this madness this november. We'll see if there's any hope left for the American people, because there may not be if they elect Hilrod after electing Obama in two different elections. And for as bad as Obama is, I don't blame his worthless asemblance of a political career, I blame us for electing him, in TWO different elections. 

BYU; traitors

Well to start, let me first say I am referring to byu's men's basketball team. And as for the reason they are traitors, that may have been an over reaction on my part. Just because I bet on the mormans, and I lost the bet, doesn't mean it's the mormans' fault. So i don't  blame byu, I blame myself for betting on byu. Moral of the story, life goes on and my gambling problems arent going to solve themselves.

Still trying, still failing

Well, I still haven't gotten clean yet, but I didn't want to post another GA ad. So here's a post of something that happened at the masters last year, and made me think back to it since it was this time of year. Little Adam just wanted to go to Augusta once and smell that fresh grass, and now he gets his chance. Stories like this in sports is the reason why so many are drawn to it, and I would say with out sports, I would never of cared for people like little Adam as much as I do now.

Another GA post

How is it that I've had a pretty good day, pretty bad week, and yet I still am drawn to one thing. And to mention first, the ncaa tournament has a few days off so ofcourse I'm going to have to get my fix somehow. I won't step foot in the casino, but the ponies do pull me to them unfortunately. So as I was saying, even with a full plate in front of me, I'm still drawn to betting on anything, and it appears it will be the NIT tournament tonight. Well lets go BYU, Ill be pulling for you guys, until I bet against you tomorrow. Oh yeah, I'm trying to quit...

Passed on golf for work and class,, damn!

The weather is nice, the good mood's in the air, and I'm smoking stogee's on the course. No wait, I decided to go to work this morning( as if I had a choice) and am stoked for class tonight. Would I rather of headed strait out to the course, cracked open a cold one, and let it rip? Bet your ass I would, but with spring showers come april flowers, or something like that. So I'm guessing there's still time for some golf this spring, and some stogee's as well I hope.

March Madness turns Sadness!

As much as it pains me to say, I was one of those fools betting it all on the line this year in March madness. And for me, as it is for many, the madness turned sadness and we're all left counting our losses. Now luckily for me, I made a pretty good chunk leading up to the beginning of March Madness. So with me breaking even on the tournament, with all the stress that was brought up and all the times it looked like I was doomed, breaking even isn't the worst thing.

News Alert; Isis Member killed!

A top member of Isis has been killed in an airstrike! As weird as it sounds to celebrate someone's death, that group is responsible for the deaths of far too many already. The sooner all these ruthless ISIS terrorists are arrested/taken into custody/killed, the better off everyone will be. In this case, as odd as it sounds, taking a life is actually saving lives. It's an interesting piece of logic, but the sooner we put a stop to ISIS with whatever means necessary, the less deaths it will actually result in.

Keep it Going

Just like this marathon runner had to keep it going, the same is required of me in my current position. Putting your head down and grinding through can be challenging, but rewarding. I don't see myself winning, or even participating for that matter, in a marathon, but you have to respect people like this guy. People who set their goals and follow through with them are hard to come by, but they set a good example for the rest of us until we can catch up.

Ready to finish strong!

     Well, it's been another tough year for the Stone man. The ups and downs we all go through daily can act as motivators, but too often lately they've had the reverse effect on me. That's why I want to finish out the semester strong, get the rest of my life in order( or at least somewhat), and start to embrace those motivators rather than reject them. The only way to get the ball rolling though is positive change, and I hope to see a lot of that out of myself in the next few weeks!

wrong title, same meaning

I typed the subject of the blog as the title of my page by mistake, but I think  it will still hit home. Spring has sprung.. and I don't mean the horrible weather outside. Spring training is under way for all 30 MLB teams, including the one and  only Detroit Tig's. Spring training is thee best time of year in my opinion. Every team is full of new hope, excited about a fresh start and everyone gets a clean slate. By being 1500 miles from all that excitement and rejuvination its hard for those positive vibes to travel all this way but hopefully hust seeing thee nice weather will warm me up.
